you know , the guy that narrates pbs science programs with seemingly unrelated events and individuals only to bring the whole narration back to the opening subject?

Not exactly sure if there is an argument going on here, design based on experience vs. design based on modern theory and others experience? whatever floats the boat.

I'm intrigued with the magic that comes from doing something often enough to learn it well, then meeting someone that is a quantum level beyond in skill. Whether I can learn something from them or not, just seeing and knowing of that ability is inspiring. The few athletes I met in cycling clued me in to what is humanly possible. I can easily imagine the appropriate "science" in a pre-historical community coupled with the rare warrior to fine tune percents in the objective "thing"(kayak). But so what, percents to what? ....magic and further mysteries?
