Pete,
Actually, I am enjoying this quite a bit.
I think that people that paddled kayaks for a living would notice small differences in performance.
I still have yet to have someone explain how they could build such seaworthy kayaks in the Aleutians and southwest Greenland where the waters are they way they are, and the kayaks from other areas that have calmer waters don't have this same high performance. These people had some contact with each other, but built kayaks that suited the needs of where they paddled them.
I think we all can learn from these discussions. I have an intense interest in the skin kayaks from these areas, and am always wanting to hear other peoples opinions on them. Even if I disagree, I'll file it away because there may be something that I am missing when I first hear or read it.
