Sweet Dream

I just got a book called "Building Sweat Dream" by Marc Pettingill. The plans are for a 12, 13, or 14 foot double paddle canoe. The boat looks great, but it seems narrow. I am worried about stability as i will be using it for fishing.Has anyone built this canoe, or know someone who has? Does anyone have any experience paddling this canoe? Any input will be appreciated.
