Until I try one, I can't be sure, but it was designed to go fast straight, not turn all that well. A leaned turn will undoubtibly help coax it around in a turn.
I think it would be a fun expedition boat once you are used to it. A load of gear will give it a more solid stability, but I don't think it would be a relaxing design.
