lines on four panel(hard chine) kayaks

seeking thoughts about the design characteristics of four panel hulls, specifically how the curve of the chine affects handling. I notice some kayaks like the caribou have chines that curve quite a bit from bow to stern. others like the chesapeakes have a pretty straight line, the North bay curves more. Haven't seen a Tern. Arctic Hawks different again. I know that all these boats differ by other dimensions than that simple line but I'm just curious what other folks have found out through experimentation. I'm thinking of making a North Bay like double and was wondering.
