Exactly what constitutes an efficient enough laminar water flow to begin with is a good question. Perhaps because the actual water action we are talking about is immediately close to the hull [a fraction of an inch] of the kayak theres a zone of water here that is less affected by 6" chop and so on. You make a valid point tho. Frankly Im on the verge of calling up those folks at bicycling magezine!

Im still holding with the theory [fact?] that it would do measurable good. Mind you Im an artist, not an engineer so take my suggestion with a little linseed oil.
