The Flying Needle

I am envisioning a powered kayak, perhaps with broader sections aft and a sturdy transom. It could have a very short shaft outboard, or an inboard, maybe a Harley engine. Why not a jet drive, or for that matter, a small jet engine? Since you wouldn't be paddling, a contoured reclining seat could be fitted, much like a Formula One race car. At those speeds a Lexan bubble over the cockpit would be in order. Stability would likely need to be enhanced, perhaps by stubby wings with hydrofoils at the ends. Hit a wake right and you could stay airborne half a mile. And you thought nothing could be worse than jetskis.
