: The end of the message has been lost. It should also say: "with
: distortion less than 2mm over 8ft.: It is important that camera and projector are both square to, and accurately
: centred on original print and ply to minimise distortion.: On your original drawing add reference marks so you can check for distortion
: when projected. I use a rectangle (scaled to 3ft10in x 7ft10in) on my
: drawing, so I can check image size and distortion. The rectangle makes
: panel layout easier on the PC, and fits within the the boundary of the ply
: sheet so you can measure it.i've used the same technique for projecting scenic dwg(s) on large border/backdrop panels to redraw at way,way huger scale. accuracy was not an issue there but the panel/border sizes were drawn on the original dwg so layouts would match.
but that accuracy you have is just great. i must have had cheap projectors because i noticed that projector vibration and the slide itself moving in the slot (because of slack and fan blowing for cooling) would bring about some discrepancies that did not really matter for me. and for successive dwgs, was helpful if the photo setup was never moved. for accuracy would be important. also important in yr case if projector fixed down for successive dwgs.
not necessarily really both axes, but i found if the slide was photoed off orientation, that by fooling around with projector orientation that 'some' could be made up. could get back to parallel lines in one axis at least.
in the past also fooled around with projecting slides of dwgs onto blueprint(diazo) paper in a darked room for abt 10-15 min(i think), then developing. those images were a hoot but fairly blurry. probably not too expensive but if you are getting that good of accuracy(
