I have not yet come across any really good resources for flat water racing kayaks. However, probably your biggest problem will be finding a boat small enough for a 14 year old. Boats are typically designed to be best suited for a paddler of a certain weight. If your son weights less than the average adult paddler, the boat will probably not perform up to its potential. Your best bet might be looking for boat designed for a small woman.
