another thought, Assuming a typical paddler has an extra 5,10,or fifteen lbs of bodyfat to lose then the whole kayak/paddler mass is less. There will be a more efficient motor, therefore one gets a double benefit of lighter total mass and better motor. So I don't know about the rest of you folks but unless my bodyfat gets down below 10% I'm wasting my time trying to make a lighter boat for "performance" reasons.
