Kayak and Canoe Design Bulletin Board

stretch single to double

I'm building an 18' x 24" stitch and glue single which is working out well. If it paddles well, I'm thinking of adding 4 inches between offset stations to make a long slim (24' x 24") double. If I leave all offsets the same, I'm assuming my hull and side pieces will fit together nicely just like the single did.

Has anyone tried this? Are my assumptions correct?
