Some good resources

Nick, I have a copy of Ship and Aircraft Fairing and Development but I’ve found it treats the topics so generally it’s hard to put together the pieces. I’m probably just being lazy.
Here are some other resources in case anyone is interested:
Software:
1. Unfold: http://triunfold.tripod.com/
UNFOLD is a tool for flattening 3D shapes. It converts a sequence of three-dimensional coordinates into a two-dimensional shape, while preserving the attributes of the original shape. It was designed for boatbuilding, but has other uses.2. Panel: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/boatdesign/files/Software/ A perl program for converting 3D panels to 2d panels.
References (besides the one Nick suggested).
1. Devlin's Boatbuilding: How to Build Any Boat the Stitch-and-Glue Way by Sam Devlin. I don’t own this but am told it contains panel projection techniques suitable for plywood boats. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0071579907/qid=1033038397/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/102-0169321-1704916?v=glance2. Boat Modeling With Dynamite Payson: A Step-by-Step Guide to Building Models of Small Craft. Same comment as the Devlin book. I’ve heard there’s a section on panel development. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0071573712/qid=1033038997/sr=2-3/102-0169321-1704916?v=glance
Thanks for everyones interest.
