Fiberglass Baidarka

: I have an almost exact (from Zimmerly) copy of an aleutian baidarka (in
: composites) with transom and all. Even with fairly heavy load the transom
: is actually above water line, so water line is quite conventional.: Effects are noticed when going with the wind stern easily lifts with a wave
: and the kayak starts to surf quite easily. Bow design seems to take care
: of most the bow burying problems.: I am quite satisfied with the design for touring purposes it takes a
: relatively huge amount of load and still handles easily.: Tapio Manner
Tapio,
I’m intrigued by the description of your boat. Sounds like it is built of fiberglass? Who built it? Can you post some pictures?- Greg
