modifying guillemot for big feet

maiden voyage in the yare didnt last long due to leg numness.
i have plotted forms for g 17' and am weary of my size 13s fitting. is it possible for me to add a few inches to the deck height?.
if so where would i add, making a 2 inch wall up from the sheer might not look too hot.
ideas please
