Your sailrig questions would be better served on a mailing list like www.shipwrecked.com, or clc's own message boards. As far as I know, going much over 40 sq. feet or past for a given kayak hull may lead to bow ditching, tho your actual wave action may vary. I think 50 sq. feet per hull is tops, lest you also rip out your mast footing.
