Kayak and Canoe Design Bulletin Board

Sailing rigs

I Posted on the more active site, but I realized that I am really asking a design question. I am thinking about making a CLC type trimaran, or joining two stitch and glue boats to form a catamaran. The rig types need to be reefable down to nothing. I was thinking that twin unstayed dingy masts mounted like the CLC masts would be a blast. The design would necessitate the mast "roll" up the sail for easiest reefing.

What additional structure would be needed to attach the boats in catamaran configuration, and what narrow design currently available has enough volume in the bow sections to keep from "stuffing" the bows at higher speeds?
