: I am very interested in building a 17' Guillemot. I just receintly bought
: Nick's book and I was wondering if I can alter the boat to accommodate my
: 6'3" 230 lb frame. ( by the way I have size 13 feet. Would I have to
: modify the height of the deck?. I would like to stay with this design
: because it offers the features that i am interested in. I am still in the
: planning stages. Any information would be greatly appreciated.: Regards,

John,
i believe the G17 displaces 215lbs so you will ned some volume as well as space for feet/legs. I would think that repeating the center form would add the necesary volume plus help out with the leg room. Check out where you feet would end up with this configuration and then measure the deck height to see if you would be comfortable with it. You can easily peak you deck or change the shape above the waterline without affecting the performance. Another option is to look at the G-expedition for the added volume.
Cheers
Rick
