Boat alterations

I am very interested in building a 17' Guillemot. I just receintly bought Nick's book and I was wondering if I can alter the boat to accommodate my 6'3" 230 lb frame. ( by the way I have size 13 feet. Would I have to modify the height of the deck?. I would like to stay with this design because it offers the features that i am interested in. I am still in the planning stages. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
