: J---- C----- do you tear off your shirt and oil your chest when you carry
: that thing?Um, no!
: That blade should keep the chipmunks at bay!
It works well for trimming away willow branches that grow in profusion on the sandy river banks. I had to do that one evening during my cross-Canada trip, somewhere in Saskatchewan. I had no good place to set up camp so I picked the least dense spot and used the knife to cut away the willows till I had a clearing big enough to set up the tent. Luckily, the tent I was using was a small single so I didn't spend too much time doing the work. I was hoping to use it to carve my GP from the cedar 2x4 that I took along for just that purpose. Never had the chance - wextremely bad weather and equipment failures caused me to end the trip after only two days.
: My knife is an earlier version of this one. I have the knife tied to my PFD
: with a light-weight
: shock cord. This makes throwing the knife interestingI did look at getting a knife similar to the one you are showing but in the end, I opted for what I bought. I haven't tried peeling potatoes with it yet but hey, when I restart my trip next summer I'll be in areas where potatoes grow - I guess I could try that. Fries anyone!
