This was a cotton canvas with latex paint skin. (knowing what I know now, I think I would have chosen a different skin method). The Crossections were made with 3/4" thick plywood recycled from a cabinet making shop. And the rest of the wood was red cedar. My scale says the boat weighs under 20 lbs. (could this be accurate???) We are thrilled with the design of the kayak. I cant wait to build more! I can see us building another Sea Flea or maybe a Sea Bee just so she can invite a friend to go paddling along with us.
