: Ever use 3oz glass for the deck?
The last three Black Pearls I've built have all used 3.25 oz-4HS E satin weave cloth for the deck. The cockpit area were reinforced with carbon fiber (from the coaming) and some 4 oz S-2. The hulls were all 4 oz S-2. Reminder: because the satin weave is tighter it's a little tougher to get it to wet-out clear with no flecks of glass showing. It's still nice to work with. It drapes wonderfully and will conform to about any shape.
