Living on Galveston Bay halfway between Houston and G'ston, I turned 40 on 9-9-99, stand 5'-7", weigh 165 lbs, and wear a size 8 flip-flop (hey, that's pertinent kayaker information, ain't it?). I never been married, nor have I ever made any of those sticky little offspringy thingies that wanna borry the car keys 16 years later.

My start in kayaking is covered in opening lines on my infamous "Pair O' Mill Creek 13s" website. The next year I built a pair of Squeedunk Cormorant 16 hybrids, and the building season of '04-'05 saw me become an orphanage for abandoned kayak projects.

In my second year of yaking the Cormorant and I leaned to Eskimo roll, brace, and all that other hot dog stuff. It was one of the most fun summers I ever spent, and I have spent some fun summers! I love to fish (saltware, spincasting), and my sea kayaks have proven perfect for the job. I paddle and fish everything from swampy backwaters to offshore in the Gulf of Mexico.

The picture is Leslie's "southwestern" Cormorant soon after its completion.

Update, 2-18-06: The Outer Island is my latest build, and I have re-discovered fly fishing and taken the long rod onto salt water.
