I'd be cautious about putting 'protruding' fittings on the deck right in front of the cockpit...when I did that, I seemed to hit my paddle on them.
Those fittings like the KS ones are meant to be used in a deck recess.

If you are used to the look of Maroske attachment points, you may find things a bit 'lumpy' with the KS or similar fittings bolted on top of the deck. And, if you are going to the trouble of making recesses, a bar-type (like Nick's) will be stronger and also provide more flexibility for running multiple lines and bungees through one attachment point.

BTW, I have a bunch of those one-bolt fittings in my parts bin here. Not all purchases end up on boats! :-)
