Usually my boats just sit idle and untouched over the winter after freeze up. But this year I am planning to take a cedar strip kayak to the indoor pool a few times for some roll practice. The kayak is stored in an unheated garage and temps are well below 0 degrees at night. Will the temperature extremes from below zero to the very warm pool and back again cause problems? I can let the kayak acclimate at pool side for a couple of hours before putting it in the water but I wonder if even handling it in the cold while loading and unloading might cause problems.
