The fiberglass (FG) on my 3 y/o strip kayak has worn through just in front of the cockpit, probably from the nylon release strap on the cover used during transport. After sanding and cleaning the area to be repaired, can I merely add more fiberglass and resin to the area, or do I need to remove a small area of existing FG. The FG edges of the worn area at intact.
