I have used JB Weld for a lot of things, and as quick epoxies for metal go it works very well. It's not welding, though.

My DeWalt 14.4 drills are still going strong. They're at least 18 years old, and spent 10 years working with me at a commercial cabinet shop as well as in my home shop. As long as they work I don't see replacing them, although I did get a 20v impact driver.
