I've had limited form diffuse scleroderma for 20 years. The causation is absolutely unknown and has been inconclusively linked in one study, publication, or another to just about every possible solvent, bacteria, or virus.
I'm not dismissing protecting oneself from active chemical processes such as curing epoxy, it is good practice. However the links to scleroderma are nebulous at best.
