I honed the back and sharpened the bevel by hand.

That is all I do. The small blade has such a relatively large bevel that it rests on it easily. Since the blade is so small it really doesn't take much time to remove the metal needed to sharpen it.

It is a tiny thing, I don't know that there will be a honing guide that will handle it, and even if there is, it probably will be fussy enough that you may be just as well off doing it by hand.
