Re: Epoxy: application problem

With Mas it is really important to overcoat before it is touch dry. Its low viscosity allows surface tension to pull it away from a surface that has gone tack free.

I keep a sharp eye on it, checking every hour or so. I find three and a half to four hours is usually about right. It is also important to ensure that every coat covers the previous one completely, with no dry spots, or the following coat will want pull away from those areas.

The very thing that makes Mas so good for wetout, (low viscosity) makes it unforgiving for fillcoats that are applied too late.

Get to the fillcoats in time, and it works like a charm.
