Strip: Options for deck line fittings

Got a little distracted by winter activities, but eventually got back to work and I'm finally almost done stripping the deck of my Mystic Star, so I'm thinking about next steps.

At this point I really want to get this boat finished and in the water - no compromises on safety, but simplicity is a big plus. Given that, my impression is I'd be better off with some sort of external deck line fitting that I can bolt on, rather than bothering with a recessed type such as a maroske - but hoping to get some feedback on that. Recessed fittings definitely look nicer - but are there any other benefits I should take into account?

If an external fitting is OK - what have people had success with? The basic padeyes are kind of ugly, but functional I suppose. What about something like a fairlead? There's a few options for those - a bit more expensive though. Or a stainless eyebolt type thing? I assume with any of these I'd want a good backer plate or washer to avoid point loads. Also, how many do I need? I do plan on installing perimeter lines, plus the usual hold-downs.
