Peter,

When doing "normal" dacron only SOF boats, I epoxy bond the dacron to the wood frame at the cockpit ring, instead of stitching it.

It bonds well. Never let go in use.
Unfortunately I've had to recover a boat, and needed to remove that bond. Pulling from a cut edge, the bond let go, but it took quite a heavy pull.

I found the same thing as Bill. Bonding works well.

Mine was 8oz from another source.
