Geez, you guys are scaring me now! :) I guess I've built 4 of these boats without a fill on the hull interior 'glass and so far so good! The oldest one is almost 10 years and still going strong. It may be that I did an initial coat of epoxy on the bare wood before 'glassing on some of them. Don't remember now. Since the epoxy tends to settle in the same areas where water would collect, and has to be squeegied up out of the bilge, it always seems like the underlying wood gets a pretty good dose there regardless. I guess that is still not complete protection if the water gets under the 'glass tho.

I take your point, and agree it would be safer to do a fill coat. I might go ahead and do that.
