For the past few kayaks I have been using CA to tack the 1.5" fiberglass tape to the hull in the 3' closest to the stems. Then place the deck, align it, and secure them with packing tape. Then apply epoxy thickened with micro-balloons with a chipbrush on a long stick. The alignment of the tape here is idiotproof and it works around curves in the Guillemot. The rest of the taping can be reached with a chipbrush through the hatches and cockpit. Works very nicely.
