You can always paint a strip planked boat - it actually makes it much easier to get the planking and finishing done.

I'm glad to see Nick encourage you.
Some of us "know it all's" forget that we generally don't really know the background of people new here.
We put additional emphysis on those things we have had problems with.
Perhaps that just shows our own lack of talent or knowledge.

It is really difficult to know what you have in mind, and if you are doing a development you will probably change what you do several times.

Please let us know what you do and provide pictures. Nothing is real without pictures. :)
