When I worked fuel sealing for aircraft, the only lesson that always worked was to never seal a leak on the leaking side.
You always had to seal the side where the pressure was pushing the fluid. Water, fuel, hydraulic oil, air - didn't matter what it was.
The only thing that sealant on the low pressure side did was confuse just where the leak was coming from.

No worries- they did the same thing on the other side of the bulkhead - filled the angle with sealant.
