Michael was a genuinely nice guy. We met by happenstance at the beginning of a Rendezvous weekend when he spotted my kayak-laden car in a parking lot in town and walked over to introduce himself. After chatting for a while, he dropped what he was doing to give my wife and I a tour of the classroom in town and then a tour of the workshop. At the end of the weekend, he put together a rush-order of strips for me to take with me. To this day, I marvel at the kindness he showed to me - someone he had just met. He was quite a guy.
