Skin-on-Frame: Stringer thickness

I am working on a Yost Sea Tour 15XP wood frame. The plans call for 3/4 x 3/4" stringers. I have some old pine stringers that are 3/4 x 5/8". I also have a 14 ' piece of cedar that I could cut up into the correct widths but I don't want to get the table saw out and cut the cedar into 3/4"x 3/4". Can I use the 3/4 x 5/8 pine stringers without affecting the strength of the kayak?
