This is System 3 epoxy with medium hardener. We applied the glass and the epoxy, then put on a fill coat the next day. I am not sure whether we put on the next fill coat later the same day or the following day - we did put on a fill coat later the same day for either the deck or the hull but it has been over a month since we did that work and we don't remember which it was. It was all during hot dry weather (in the 90s) in a garage which was closed each night, so it did not get wet with water. We did carefully stir the epoxy for a count of 120, but I suppose that we still could have failed to mix it enough.

We don't have real paint thinner, but we tried odorless mineral spirits and it looks the same as with water - it pretty much disappears if looked at directly and is visible when looking from the side.

When I keep sanding, the area spreads. So it might be possible to sand it away and add a layer of epoxy. But we reached the top of the glass in some places and are afraid to sand much more. I suppose I could try to hand sand that worst place since we did not reach the glass there, and see how that comes out. This is a hatch cover (cut from the deck) so we have some ability to experiment before we sand the rest of the deck.
