wondering if someone here has ever built something like a grand canyon dory ?

I’m working on this dory project for a girl that does trips down the grand canyon. Just wanted to ask a question. there’s a lot of inside compartments. She’s thinking about building the hull on the strong back, (and then) build the inside compartments on a jig (and then) set the whole assembly into the boat.

I’m thinking it would be best to set the thwarts in the hull like you see in the pictures, so their built in to the hull, and then custom cut the longitudinal pieces to complete the inside.
