Yes. My blades are a bit thinner and the edges taper to a slightly sharper edge than most. On some of my paddles the loom is a little thinner as well.
I do wonder what would happen if I made one from a solid piece of wood however. All of mine are made from laminated blacks of recwood and cedar. Maybe they would not be as strong if made fom a solid piece of wood, I don't know.
