I have thought about adding some beautiful fall leaves to my next project. Has anyone ever seen it done before?

My thoughts would be the leaf would turn to a brown color overtime.

Or it might not because the leaf has no more oxygen getting to it after it gets glassed over.

Any thoughts?

I do it every fall.

Collect your leaves and press them in a phone book (remember those?) for a few days to dry and flatten them.

The stems are a problem because they don't flatten well. Cut them off, be prepared to poke and press the air bubbles out and the resin in, or vacuum bag the surface. Any heat during glassing will turn the leaves brown so don't try to accelerate the resin cure with heat. Ask me how I know!

The leaves do fade to brown over time with UV exposure. They last longer placed on the bulkhead behind your seat or as an "easter egg" on an internal bulkhead.
