Believe it or not there's woodworking boards with loads of complaints about glue container tops if you're just wasting time on the computer as I was.

The solution seems to be, leave it upside down so no air hits the top as the level goes down a a bit. Everything works great when it's new.

Rockler even sells their own glue bottle tops.

One guy actually sent a letter to Tightbond and they sent him a bunch of tops.

Here's the best one and what I referred to as the old Elmers type.
