I used modified inner tube spring clamp method which gives the fastest and most consistent clamping pressure. Also used Rob Macks hot glue technique.

I tried tape, blocks, and loose inner tube pieces and they all have their place, but for the most part nothing was as quick or reliable as installing the inner tube onto the clamp through a hole in the front of the jaws. Because the hole in the jaw is smaller than the strip of inner tube it stays in place and can be tightened or loosened easily, and with one hand.

The clamps I used were from Home Depot and cost a $1, so Cheaper than tape.
