Regarding thinning the construction adhesive prior to first coat. I wish i had known enough to do that.. Good idea. My boat is completely coated with adhesive, and I really like what i see except for a couple of things. One is that i had a hard time not getting it on too thick, and where it is to thick I got some weird bubbling! I think that it may have to do with the heat here on Oahu? The adhesive did in fact stiffen up the cloth quite nicely where I had some sagging cloth at the cockpit and tips of the stern and bow. If or when I ever build another one of these, I will use the adhesive thinning process. I really like the color of the brand I used, Loctite PL 3X. It looks like smoked reindeer hide!
