Wow! So there isn't much of a secondary market? I do understand there are boats and there are "boats" The vast majority of home built boats I have seen, I would't take if they were given to me. They belong on the burning pile! However, mine, and I have 4 to sell are in a different class being very well built, and done right. I have built or helped build 10 boats, and I have taught 2 building classes.

I don't think everybody wants a $150 Walmart plastic pig. Most of my paddling partners have $3000-$4000 composite kayaks. In the past I have had 2 different offers of even trades of one of my strippers boats for a high end composite boat.

Well - if there is no market for used strippers, I guess there is no real reason for someone to buy a complete kit that they have to build. Might as well just buy a good high end composite boat that has some future resale value.
