I like sharp edges...quiet & clean entry and smooth sculling.....and powerful. {YMMV}

That's why I paddle with my Werner Cyprus or Lightning carbon paddles!
:-)

Try putting edges like that on a wood Greenland paddle and you'll have splinters in short order, I think.
