Strip: Is this the right kayak for me

I haven't been able to find any specific information on Laughing Loon's Mystic Star other than one poster saying that it was designed for a different purpose than the Shooting Star. Unfortunately, he didn't say what that purpose was. I already talked to Rob, and for my use, he recommended the Mystic Start over his other designs, but I'd like some other opinions if anyone has any. I love the look of his baidarks, so am very interested in building one. I'm a very experienced woodworker (no strip building or glassing) and I'm not really worried about building it, but want to enjoy it once completed. I'm a novice paddler (have a Kipawa canoe, but don't use it very much), 5'10", 190 pounds. Main use would be on medium to large lakes. I'll only use it for day trips; no overnights or really rough water in the immediate future. My sister will use it as well. I'd estimate her height as 5'5", 130 to 140 pounds (total guess - hopefully she'll forgive me if I'm wrong). Anyone know how stable it would be (I may learn to roll eventually, but that's not a priority as the lakes around here are ice-cold year-round)? Suitable for just cruising around for the day, or is it a specialized craft? Thanks in advance for your thoughts and recommendations.
