If the builder pulled it off the forms before glassing the outside, he wasn't using 'standard' techniques, for sure. Perhaps it was done by somebody later, trying to 'clean up the shop'.

It's hard to believe that the lines of the canoe are still good, with all those gaps, which I'm assuming appeared after the boat came off the forms. The 'end-on' pic shows some lumps and flat areas, but that may just be distortion in the photo.

It doesn't take a great deal of time to strip a canoe once the forms are set up. If I were in your shoes, I'd start from scratch rather than pour a couple of hundred dollars of glass and epoxy on to what is there. Even if you do decide to proceed, it will be difficult to keep the epoxy from just draining through those gaps.

BTW, your shop is much too clean and tidy, IMO - setting unrealistic standards for some of us to strive for!
