I can live with white specks everywhere but don't like the wood selection.

I've been snookered several times on wood I thought would look good and didn't!

I use TransTint dye to make blah wood, look like WOW wood.

So, you can throw in the towel or get out the heat gun. In a couple hours you can remove all the old glass, get rid of those white specks and sand back to bare wood. Do test samples of the dye and apply epoxy so you see how it will look. When the dye dries on the wood it looks very different than when it's covered with epoxy. Then dye the your hull/deck and apply new glass.

There's nothing like fixing mistakes to teach you boat building. I still make mistakes all the time. I just don't waste time thinking about it, because it doesn't take long to fix it.

Or you can paint it. And later if you still wish you had bright finished stripper you can pull out the heat gun and change things.

Ask anyone here, who has fixed mistakes, how much time they wasted thinking about the mistake and how fast and easy it was to fix it. It's called experience.
