John, I'm glad you're willing to continue to give it a try!

I know how having a poor experience can turn you off.

I just think it's such a great tool to have in your bag of tricks, when it works right.

For a corded lower cost dual temperature glue gun I'd suggest

http://www.glu-stix.com/shop/page/product_detail/Product/0c202020a6b0e7357466c3c4c416bb67.html

Dual Temperature Glue Gun Kit includes nozzle assortment (accepts 7/16" dia. glue sticks) $39.85

I use the high temp to tack strips to stations and perpendicular bridge supports and low temp for stitching beads.
It's good to have some different tips to play with and find the one which works best for you.

If you want to go to the professional corded models I've used

Adjustable Temperature Hot Melt Glue Gun - 220 Watts - (accepts 7/16" diam. glue sticks) Range 248°F to 425°F. Includes a storage case $128.60 and it does have one or two extra nozzles.

Dang! I didn't realize how many choices there were until you asked! Smart guy!

All the best,
Rob
